Shavuot is the celebration of the Lord giving His Law to the Israelites on tablets of stones 50 days after Passover. Similarly, we celebrate Pentecost, when the new Christians had the Holy Spirit come upon them and wrote His law on the hearts of man. This occurred on the same day of Shavuot, 50 days after Passover.
